About the Graduate Education Program

Since 1976, Dialog has offered free usage for instructional purposes in graduate schools of library and information science. Today the Graduate Education Program is offered worldwide and provides access to multiple Dialog services including Dialog®Classic, Dialog DataStar™ and Dialog Intranet Toolkit.

Qualified information professionals are consultants for the program and offer customized instruction for both faculty and students, either in person or using the latest technologies for distance education. Specialized publications and instructional materials provide additional resources. The Graduate Education Program also awards the Roger K. Summit Scholarship.

What's New

New Options for Distance Education Classes

Dialog now has online learning modules created specifically for LIS programs. The modules cover online searching basics, database indexing, and advanced business applications on Dialog®Classic and Dialog®Web. The modules are designed to supplement current instruction and could be of particular value to those courses where a MLIS Consultant is unable to visit, either personally or remotely through web conferencing.

Training for Instructors

Teaching Dialog services for the first time, or just want to review the basics? GEP offers personalized training from a MLIS consultant. Faculty may also attend Dialog public training seminars.

Faculty Resources

Whether you've been teaching Dialog for many years or are just getting started, you'll find useful resources here.
